Wuhu, China- Chery Automobile Co. Ltd., a car manufacturer, has launched its latest electric city car, the QQ Domi, targeting young urban drivers with a blend of affordability, practicality, and stylish design. The five-door, five-seat hatchback is available in two variants with CLTC-rated ranges of 305 km and 405 km.
The QQ Domi stands out with its compact dimensions 3,720 mm long, 1,700 mm wide, and 1,608 mm high built on a 2,520 mm wheelbase. The design is youthful and modern, featuring rounded contours, LED headlights with lenses, a trapezoidal lower grille, and hidden door handles. A blacked-out C-pillar gives the appearance of a floating roof, while the rear mirrors the front with sleek, connected tail lights. Customers can choose from four exterior colors: Snow White, Sky Blue, Meteor Silver, and Rouge Pink.
Inside, the cabin is designed for both style and functionality, offering two interior themes—black-grey and pink-grey. The dashboard features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen at the center. The QQ Domi includes voice recognition, keyless entry and start, and app-based remote control. Practical touches include a steering column-mounted gear selector, which frees up center console space, and 40/60 split-folding rear seats to maximize interior flexibility. The front seats are integrated in a single-piece design, while the rear seating emphasizes space efficiency.
All variants of the QQ Domi are powered by a 40 kW front-mounted electric motor, delivering 110 Nm of torque and a top speed of 100 km/h. Buyers can choose between a 28.5 kWh or a 39.33 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering CLTC ranges of 305 km and 405 km, respectively. Both versions support fast charging, with 30% to 80% charge achievable in around 30 minutes. The 405 km version is also equipped with VTOL (vehicle-to-load) capability, allowing it to power external devices like small appliances or camping equipment.
Alongside the QQ Domi, Chery also introduced two refreshed small EVs. The Little Ant “Love Edition” is an entry-level variant of the established Little Ant series. Priced at 54,900 yuan (~$7,600), it omits premium features like an electronic handbrake and leather seats but retains a 10.4-inch touchscreen. Available in muted white and grey colors, it caters to cost-conscious consumers.
The second model, the QQ Ice Cream “Vitality Edition”, is a fun, compact EV with a 205 km NEDC-rated range. It retains the basic design of its predecessor but adds fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% battery top-up in just 33 minutes. Priced at a promotional 39,900 yuan (~$5,500), it comes in six cheerful colors and features updated connectivity options.
The QQ Domi enters a highly competitive segment, taking on rivals like the BYD Seagull (69,800 yuan / ~$9,720) and Leapmotor T03 (59,900 yuan / ~$8,340). With a lower starting price, eye-catching design, and useful features, Chery is positioning the QQ Domi as a strong contender in China’s booming small EV market, aimed particularly at younger, tech-savvy urban buyers.
