Harsewinkel, Germany - CLAAS KGaA mbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has announced major updates for its Xerion 12 large tractor range, led by a new Vehicle Control Unit developed with AgXeed for driver-monitored autonomous field operations.

Available from mid-2026, the system allows pre-programmed work orders to be carried out automatically under driver supervision. It can manage steering, turning, headland work, obstacle avoidance and site-specific rate control, while the driver remains in the cab and can take control at any time.

The work orders are transferred from Claas connect to AgXeed’s TraXwise platform and started through a tablet in the cab. Completed jobs are documented automatically for analysis, billing and farm records.

Claas has also introduced Autodroop, a new engine droop mode designed to adjust performance automatically to changing field conditions. The CMatic transmission controller has also been improved for better response during heavy load changes, tillage, sowing and implement engagement.

For the 2026 season, the Terra Trac crawler track units have been strengthened and redesigned for better durability and self-cleaning. Cab upgrades include a luxury driver’s seat, more storage, compressed air connections, a 6.75-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+ radio and Bluetooth.

Other updates include Auto RefLine in the GPS Pilot Cemis 1200 steering system, new LED rotating lamps and easier control of key functions through the CMotion drive lever.
