DCVMI Inaugurates New Manufacturing Plant in Cikarang
DCVMI has launched a new Mercedes-Benz truck and bus facility in Cikarang, boosting local production, efficiency, and job creation with a 5,000-unit capacity and IDR 500 billion investment.

Cikarang, Indonesia- Daimler Commercial Vehicles Manufacturing Indonesia (DCVMI)., has officially inaugurated its new Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses manufacturing facility in the Cikarang Industrial Area, West Java. Themed “Bigger and Better,” the new plant brings all operations under one roof, improving coordination, efficiency, and product quality while aligning with global manufacturing standards.
Spanning 15 hectares with an annual capacity of 5,000 units, the facility represents a significant IDR 500 billion investment. It marks a major milestone in Daimler Truck’s commitment to Indonesia’s commercial vehicle industry.
The inauguration was attended by key dignitaries including Indonesia’s Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, German Ambassador Ina Lepel, and senior leaders from Daimler India and Indonesia—highlighting strong international collaboration.
The plant continues to produce flagship Mercedes-Benz Axor truck variants and bus chassis tailored for the Indonesian market. It features a test track, advanced paint booth, and integrated manufacturing systems, along with green initiatives like energy-efficient operations and Miyawaki-method green spaces.
This development strengthens the synergy between DCVMI and Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI), ensuring top-quality products and excellent after-sales support for customers nationwide.
Minister of Industry Mr. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, said, “The government extends its appreciation for the establishment of PT DCVMI’s new plant in Cikarang as a strategic step that reflects Daimler Truck AG’s confidence in the positive outlook of Indonesia’s national automotive industry. We highly value the commitment to strengthen export markets, develop local supply chains, and create broad employment opportunities. We also recognize that enhancing local content value (TKDN), particularly in the commercial vehicle sector, is a crucial step in addressing the challenge of high import levels of commercial vehicles. Furthermore, we are pleased that the orientation of this new plant is highly relevant in responding to the trade deficit in the national commercial vehicle sector. As the industry transitions toward green mobility, the government fully supports the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies in the automotive sector through close collaboration between the government, industry players, and academia.”
