West Fargo, North Dakota - Doosan Bobcat., a construction equipment manufacturer, is moving to acquire management control of Wacker Neuson., a Germany-based compact equipment manufacturer, by purchasing a 63% stake from key shareholders, with plans to secure the remaining shares through a tender offer, according to a recent Wacker Neuson filing.

The companies have reportedly been negotiating for over a year and are now close to finalizing the transaction. Wacker Neuson, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has a market value of around €1.3 billion, but industry analysts estimate a full acquisition—including a management premium—could reach as high as 5.1 trillion won.

Established in 1848 and headquartered in Munich, Wacker Neuson specializes in compact construction machinery and expects to generate €2.3 billion in revenue this year. The company operates a direct sales and service network across more than 35 countries.

The deal aligns with Doosan Bobcat’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe—a region with strong demand for compact equipment due to infrastructure upgrades, residential remodeling, landscaping, and maintenance projects. The Korean manufacturer currently relies on North America for roughly 70% of its sales and sees this acquisition as a key step toward diversifying its global business structure.
