Schwandorf, Germany - Horsch Maschinen GmbH., an agricultural technology company, will present its latest low-disturbance establishment machinery at Cereals 2026, with a focus on wider row spacing, flexible drilling options and reduced cultivation passes.

The company’s display will cover ultra-shallow cultivators, min-till, strip-till and direct drilling solutions. Key highlights include the 12m Avatar disc drill range with 25cm row spacing and the new Sprinter 12.25 SC tine drill configuration.

According to HORSCH, the 25cm row spacing on the Avatar 12m model is gaining strong interest from growers. Stephen Burcham, General Manager at HORSCH UK, said customers are seeing little to no yield loss in most crops, especially winter crops, while benefiting from lower input costs.

HORSCH customer Wright’s Agriculture said the wider spacing helped reduce soil disturbance and herbicide use. Eric Wright said the crops may look widely spaced at emergence, but by harvest there is little visible difference. He added that disturbing less land helped reduce herbicide requirements.

The Avatar 8.25 SD, 9.25 SD, 10.25 SD and 12.25 SD are available in working widths from 8m to 12m with 25cm row spacing. The range can be specified with a 6,400-litre triple tank system or a double-tank option.

HORSCH will also showcase the Sprinter 12.25 SC tine drill, which offers a 12m working width and folds to a 3m transport width. It features a 6,300-litre double hopper and is designed for direct or mulch seeding. The machine uses hydraulically pre-stressed tines with up to 180kg coulter pressure, helping create a clean sowing horizon in challenging conditions.

For farms seeking mounted options, HORSCH will also highlight the 6m Avatar SL and Sprinter 6.25 SL, used with a Partner FT front tank. These mounted drills retain wider row spacing and are designed to improve manoeuvrability while supporting low-disturbance crop establishment.

The Avatar SL is suited to mulch seeding, high straw residue and harder soils, with 25cm or 30cm row spacing allowing for mechanical weed control. The Sprinter 6.25 SL is aimed at wetter conditions and light to medium soils, using individually depth-controlled tines with 25cm spacing.
