Moline, Illinois - Deere & Company., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced new planter technology enhancements for the U.S. market aimed at improving planting accuracy, crop emergence and nutrient management.

A key update is an optional dual-product fertilizer system that allows operators to apply nutrients both in-furrow and beside the seed row. The system combines ExactShot, which delivers nutrients directly to the seed and can reduce in-furrow fertilizer use by up to 66%, with ExactRate, which applies fertilizer off to the side to support crop growth.

The system includes dual liquid tanks, stainless-steel fertilizer lines and fertilizer-level sensors, enabling operators to monitor product levels during operation.

John Deere has also introduced ExactDepth, an electric depth control system that allows in-cab adjustment of planting depth and individual row calibration. The technology is available on several planter models including the 1725C, 1775NT, 1795 and DB series.

Another addition is FurrowVision, which uses in-furrow cameras to provide real-time views of the furrow and detect residue that could affect seed placement.

These planter technology upgrades are designed to improve seed placement accuracy, nutrient efficiency and overall planting performance.
