Cincinnati, United States- Workhorse Group Inc., an electric vehicle manufacturer, announced that Kingsburg Truck Center has secured a contract from the California Department of General Services (DGS) to supply Workhorse W4 CC and W56 electric trucks to state agencies.

The DGS contract gives California state agencies streamlined access to Workhorse’s 100% battery-electric medium-duty trucks, aiding the state’s sustainability goals. The versatile W4 CC (Class 4 cab chassis) suits various industries, while the W56 (Class 5/6 step van or stripped chassis) offers a 10,000-pound payload and 210 kWh battery for reliable last-mile delivery. Despite CARB withdrawing its federal waiver request in January 2025, state and local agencies must still comply with ACF regulations, making this contract a key enabler for their zero-emission fleet transition.

Mr. Wes Lowe, Owner of Kingsburg Truck Center, said, “We are honored to play a pivotal role in this transition, making zero-emission solutions more accessible to state agencies. We’re located here in the San Joaquin Valley, where air quality has been a challenge for years. Cutting emissions from medium- and heavy-duty trucks is a big deal, and we’re proud to be part of the solution.”

Mr. Ryan Gaul, President, Commercial Vehicles at Workhorse, said, “The Workhorse W4 CC and W56 provide state agencies with reliable, zero-emission vehicles to meet their operational needs while supporting California’s ambitious clean transportation standards. We’re proud to partner with Kingsburg Truck Center to provide hard-working, reliable vehicles that help improve air quality and drive the transition to electrified fleets.”
