Saverne, France - Kuhn Farm Machinery., an agricultural equipment company, has expanded its Primor straw bedding and feeding range with the launch of the Primor GII 110.1 Polydrive, designed for farmers operating in livestock buildings with restricted roof height while still requiring high-capacity performance.
The new machine features an 11 m³ bale bed measuring 5.5 metres long, allowing it to transport two 2.7 m square bales with the tailgate closed or up to four 2 m round bales when the tailgate is lowered. It has a compact transport height of 2.6 metres, rising to just 2.9 metres during spreading, ensuring efficient operation inside low-height sheds.
According to Kuhn product specialist Rhodri Jenkins, the machine is ideal for small and medium-sized livestock farms that rely on older or lower buildings. He noted that the combination of compact working height and increased carrying capacity helps farmers cover a larger area per load while easily manoeuvring inside restricted spaces.
The Primor GII 110.1 Polydrive is equipped with Kuhn’s Polydrive hydraulically controlled feed rotor system, which combines mechanical transmission power with hydraulic flexibility. A large-diameter feed rotor prevents long fibres from wrapping, while a hydraulic tine bank adjusts rotor power based on the fodder type.
Additional features include a two-speed gearbox controlling turbine rotation between 310 and 620 rpm, and a patented hydraulic clamp unroll system that holds spare round bales securely during straw blowing. For improved durability, Kuhn has applied its K-NOX treatment to the turbine base, increasing resistance to silage acids and abrasion. The machine also incorporates new tailgate kinematics to simplify bale loading.
The Primor GII 110.1 Polydrive joins Kuhn’s broader Primor straw blower and feeder lineup, which ranges from the 2 m³ mounted Primor 2060 M to the 15 m³ trailed Primor 15070 M, offering solutions for a wide variety of livestock operations.
