Mumbai - Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M)., a tractor manufacturer, has entered into a definitive Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Tera Yatirim Teknoloji Holding Anonim Sirketi (TERA)., to sell its entire stake in Sampo Rosenlew Oy (SAMPO), the Finnish farm machinery company that has been a wholly owned subsidiary of M&M.
Following the completion of the deal, Sampo Rosenlew will no longer be a part of the Mahindra Group, marking a significant divestment in the company’s global portfolio.
M&M said the decision aligns with its strategic focus on opportunities that best position the company for long-term growth. “Sampo has contributed meaningfully to Mahindra since it joined the group, with several of its technologies strengthening our farm machinery capabilities,” the company noted.
By transitioning ownership to TERA, Mahindra believes Sampo Rosenlew will gain the freedom to explore new avenues for innovation and expansion, leveraging its rich heritage and deep understanding of the Finnish market. The move is expected to create new pathways for growth, enabling the Finnish subsidiary to continue evolving independently while maintaining its legacy of excellence in agricultural machinery.
This divestment underscores Mahindra’s strategy to streamline its global operations while fostering innovation and growth in specialized markets through partnerships with companies that can provide focused investment and development.
