Mumbai - Farm Equipment Sector (FES) of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a tractor manufacturer, has announced its tractor sales figures for May 2025. The company reported a 10% year-on-year growth in domestic tractor sales, with 38,914 units sold compared to 35,237 units in May 2024.

When including exports, total tractor sales for the month reached 40,643 units, marking a 10% increase over 37,109 units sold in the same month last year. However, the export segment witnessed a slight decline, with 1,729 units shipped in May 2025, down 8% from 1,872 units in May 2024.

For the April–May 2025 period (YTD May FY26), Mahindra recorded strong performance in the domestic market, selling 77,430 tractors, compared to 71,042 units in the same period last year, registering a 9% growth. Export volumes for the same period reached 3,267 units, up 5% from 3,106 units in YTD May FY25. Cumulatively, total tractor sales for YTD May 2025 stood at 80,697 units, reflecting a 9% overall increase.

Mr. Veejay Nakra, President of Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We have sold 38,914 tractors in the domestic market during May 2025, achieving a 10% growth over last year. The early advancement of an above-normal Southwest monsoon is expected to support Kharif sowing. Land preparation activities for paddy are progressing well. The government’s approval of a hike in MSP for paddy and other Kharif crops is likely to boost farmer sentiment. Additionally, improved reservoir levels, announcements of record foodgrain production, and various government schemes will support higher farm productivity and fuel continued demand for tractors. In the exports market, we sold 1,729 tractors.”

With a strong start to the fiscal year and favorable monsoon forecasts, Mahindra is optimistic about maintaining its growth momentum in the coming months.
