Munich, Germany- MAN Truck & Bus SE., a commercial vehicle manufacturer and TIP Group, the leading trailer and truck hire services provider have signed a new framework agreement covering the delivery of up to 600 vehicles annually over the next three years. The agreement spans 18 European countries and includes up to 1,800 trucks across all weight classes, ranging from 7.5 to 42 tonnes. Alongside conventionally powered vehicles, the contract also includes battery-electric trucks, with a total order value of up to €160 million.

Mr. Friedrich Baumann, Executive Board Member for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus, said the agreement sends a strong signal for the future of freight transport. He emphasized that the partnership reflects shared commitment to sustainable logistics, combining efficient diesel trucks with innovative battery-electric models. The agreement, he noted, highlights trust in MAN’s products and services while supporting the industry’s ongoing transformation.

Mr. Arjen Kraaij, CEO of TIP Group, stated that supporting customers through the transition to sustainable transport requires offering the right solutions at the right time. By collaborating closely with MAN, TIP will expand its fleet with both highly efficient diesel trucks and electric models, giving operators practical options that balance performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability. Since 2024, TIP has been actively focusing on zero-emission solutions and was the first rental company to integrate a larger number of MAN eTGX long-haul vehicles into its fleet.

MAN’s truck portfolio covers long-haul transport, construction, distribution logistics, and municipal applications. Customers can choose between diesel and electric drivetrains. In the diesel segment, MAN’s latest PowerLion drivetrain featuring the D30 engine, TipMatic-14 transmission, and aerodynamic enhancements delivers up to 5 percent lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to its predecessor. Over a vehicle’s lifetime in long-haul operations, this can translate into around 35 tonnes of CO₂ savings and up to €20,000 in reduced operating costs.

On the electric side, MAN’s modular battery concept enables ranges of up to 310 km for the light-duty eTGL and up to 830 km for heavy-duty eTGX and eTGS models, depending on configuration and usage. The trucks come standard with CCS charging and up to 375 kW charging capacity, with megawatt charging of up to 750 kW planned from early summer 2026. Both diesel and electric trucks are produced on the same line at MAN’s Munich plant, ensuring flexibility and cost efficiency during the transition toward zero-emission logistics.

The agreement is further supported by MAN’s comprehensive service contracts, offering scheduled maintenance, rapid repairs, and access to a Europe-wide service network. Fixed monthly rates provide cost transparency and simplified budget planning, while preventive maintenance minimizes downtime, enhances profitability, and maintains vehicle value. Regular servicing according to manufacturer standards also ensures the highest safety levels, enabling operators to focus fully on their core business.
