Cairo, Egypt- MCV has delivered 35 hydrogen-electric C127 FC LE buses to Villach, Austria, for operation by ÖBB Postbus from June 2026. The fleet becomes Austria’s largest hydrogen bus fleet to date.
The buses were delivered on May 6, 2026, alongside the launch of the first hydrogen refueling station linked to the project. The initiative is part of “DeCarB – Decarbonising Carinthian Bus Transport,” led by the State of Carinthia with partners including the Carinthian Transport Association, Gutmann, Kelag and Postbus.
The new hydrogen buses will serve regional and intercity routes across areas such as the Lower Drau Valley, Lake Faak, Lake Ossiach, Gegendtal, Rosental and Wernberg. With a range of up to 400 km per tank, the buses are designed for long-distance routes, difficult terrain and tight public transport schedules.
The MCV C127 FC LE combines a low-entry intercity bus design with a hydrogen-electric powertrain. It features a 117 kWh battery, a 100 kW fuel cell and around 40 kg of hydrogen storage. The Postbus version offers 41 passenger seats and 27 standing spaces.
MCV said the model is suited for intercity transport, especially where charging infrastructure is difficult to install or where long operating times and short downtimes are required.
