Bowling Green, Ohio – The Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA)., has unveiled its new 20,000-square-foot National Construction Equipment Museum, designed to display major pieces from its extensive vintage equipment collection.

The museum will be dedicated at HCEA’s 39th annual International Convention and Old Equipment Exposition. The new building replaces the previous 7,000-square-foot indoor exhibit and features a vaulted ceiling, allowing vintage shovel and crane booms to be raised, along with more space for visitors and heated floors for winter comfort.

HCEA spent over a decade planning the new facility and raised $2 million in donations to fund construction. Ken Taylor, president of Ohio Cat and HCEA corporate member, led the fundraising efforts, including a $500,000 matching funds drive. Construction began in 2023 and was largely completed in Spring 2025, with Clouse Construction serving as the prime contractor.

The next phase includes fundraising for interior improvements, such as office and archives space and an educational center.

Located at 16623 Liberty Hi Road, the museum sits on an 80-acre site that houses more than 220 pieces of 19th- and 20th-century construction machinery. The site will also host HCEA’s international convention and expo from September 18-20, where vintage equipment will be on display and demonstrated.
