Yokohama, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd has revealed the name and a first look at the all-new Nissan Tekton, the latest addition to its global SUV lineup. Set for full unveiling and launch in 2026, the Tekton is designed to disrupt the C-SUV segment, blending bold design, advanced technology, and robust engineering.
The Tekton will be the second model under Nissan Motor India’s “One Car, One World” strategy and will be manufactured at the Chennai plant in partnership with Renault. It will be sold in India first, with plans to export to select global markets thereafter.
Drawing inspiration from Nissan’s legendary Patrol SUV, the Tekton embodies a powerful and confident presence. Its exterior features a sculpted bonnet, C-shaped headlamps, and a strong lower bumper that together create a commanding front profile. The side view emphasizes a muscular stance, highlighted by a ‘Double-C’ accent on the front doors an homage to the Himalayas. At the rear, an illuminated red lightbar spans the width of the vehicle, connecting the C-shaped taillights and framing the Tekton nameplate proudly across the tailgate.
“Mr. Alfonso Albaisa, Corporate Executive at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, said, “It is designed to disrupt, dominate, and deliver everything modern consumers desire imposing, stylish, and built to set a new benchmark in India and beyond.”
Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said, “The Tekton will be at the heart of Nissan Motor India’s resurgence story. With its bold stance, premium interiors, and commanding presence, it will redefine expectations in the C-SUV segment and spearhead our growth in India.”
The name “Tekton”, derived from the Greek word meaning craftsman or architect, reflects Nissan’s dedication to precision engineering and innovation. It represents strength, creativity, and purpose qualities that align with the brand’s mission to enrich lives through mobility.
As a premium C-SUV, the Tekton embodies Nissan’s values of design excellence, performance, and reliability, appealing to customers who seek vehicles that mirror their ambitions and lifestyles. The model will also play a central role in Nissan’s broader strategy to expand its presence and product portfolio in India, supported by an ongoing dealership network expansion.
