Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., a commercial vehicle manufacture, will supply Arriva plc., a public transporter in Netherlands with 30 electric buses, including 26 units of Urbino 12 electric buses and 4 units of Urbino 18 electric buses. These vehicles will serve the West-Brabant region as part of Arriva's initiative to achieve a zero-emission bus fleet by the start of the new concession on July 6, 2025. The buses are expected to arrive in the first half of 2025.

Mr. Olivier Michard, Chief Commercial Officer at Solaris Bus & Coach, said, “Arriva's order of 30 electric buses is an important step towards greener mobility solutions in the Netherlands. We are very happy to continue our cooperation by introducing another zero-emission technology – besides hydrogen – to Arriva's fleet. We strongly believe that e-mobility is a key to the global transformation of transport.”

Mr. Jan Pieter Been, regional director Arriva Zuid, said, “With the investment of these buses, we invest in the future. We take a huge step regarding our zero emission ambitions. Over 90 % of the public transport by bus in West-Brabant is electric, with no emission. It fits our ambition to work CO2 neutral in 2027.”

The buses for West Brabant feature a new modular drive system that eliminates the engine tower, maximizing passenger space and allowing batteries to be mounted on the roof. Both the 12-meter and 18-meter models will have approximately 400 kWh battery capacity, charged via two sockets on either side of the bus.

To enhance safety and comfort, each bus will include a comprehensive monitoring system with Fisheye cameras, alert systems for pedestrians and cyclists, lane departure warnings, and fatigue monitoring. The spacious interior will offer comfortable seating, onboard WiFi, and USB chargers for passengers.
