Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp z o.o., a manufacturer of public transport vehicles, has signed a contract with MZA Warsaw for the delivery of 79 zero-emission buses, strengthening the Polish capital’s position as a European leader in electric public transport. The order includes 50 articulated Urbino 18 electric buses and 29 Urbino 12 electric buses, with an option to purchase an additional 79 vehicles in the future. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
The new Urbino models will feature a modular drive system architecture that eliminates the traditional engine tower, freeing up more space for passengers and accommodating additional batteries on the roof. In line with the latest GSR2 safety regulation, they will also come with advanced driver assistance systems, including blind spot monitoring and driver drowsiness detection.
