Owińska, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., has secured what is described as the largest public transport tender of the year from Warsaw’s Public Transport Authority (ZTM). Under the contract, Solaris will supply 120 articulated diesel buses, a purchase aimed at modernising the city’s fleet and replacing the oldest buses currently in daily operation. Deliveries are scheduled to start in the second half of 2026 and continue throughout 2027, with an option for ZTM to increase the order by up to 100 additional articulated buses of the same specification.

The order covers the Solaris Urbino 18 low-floor articulated model. The new buses are intended to lower the average age of Warsaw’s fleet, improving passenger comfort and safety. Each vehicle will offer 133 passenger spaces, including 39 seats, and will be fitted with air conditioning and an on-board monitoring system.

To reduce energy consumption, the buses will also feature roof-mounted photovoltaic panels. Another safety measure included is the alcolock system, an alcohol interlock device that checks a driver’s breath and prevents the engine from starting if alcohol is detected.
