Colombo, Sri Lanka- Tata Motors Limited., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has introduced 10 new commercial vehicles in partnership with DIMO, its authorized distributor in Sri Lanka. This landmark launch expands Tata Motors’ presence in the country and commemorates 65 years of collaboration with DIMO, a partnership built on shared growth and customer excellence.
The new vehicles are designed to meet a wide range of cargo and passenger mobility needs in Sri Lanka. Engineered for performance, reliability, and efficiency, they offer advanced transport solutions tailored to the country’s logistics and mobility requirements. Rigorously tested across diverse terrains, these vehicles combine durability with superior comfort and operational productivity.
Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said that the company has drawn on its legacy and deep market understanding to deliver application-oriented vehicles suited to Sri Lanka’s infrastructure, logistics, and public transport needs. On the cargo side, Tata Motors launched the Ultra range of trucks (T.7, T.9, T.12, T.14, and 1918.T) for agile intra-city logistics and last-mile delivery, as well as the Prima 5530.S and Signa 5530.S prime movers for long-haul and heavy-duty transport. These trucks are engineered for fuel efficiency, maneuverability, and high productivity in demanding applications.
For passenger mobility, Tata Motors unveiled the LPO 1622 Magna bus, designed for inter-city travel with advanced safety features, air suspension, and superior comfort. The Ultra Prime LPO 8.6 and LPO 11.6 buses, seating 34 and 40 passengers respectively, provide efficient and reliable solutions for staff transport with ergonomic seating and high uptime.
Supporting the launch, DIMO has expanded customer services with 15 strategically located service centers across Sri Lanka. Select models will come with extended warranty coverage of up to three years or 300,000 km, along with customized annual maintenance contracts to optimize performance and reduce operational costs.
