Friedrichshafen, Germany- ZF Friedrichshafen AG., an automotive supplier and the BMW Group have signed a long-term supply agreement covering passenger-car drive systems, cantered on the supply and ongoing development of the proven 8-speed automatic transmission (8HP). Valued at several billion euros, the contract runs through the late 2030s—giving both companies a stable base to advance open-technology, low-emission mobility.

Under the partnership, the 8HP transmission kit will be continuously refined, with the goal of delivering an even more powerful and efficient solution that meets the demands of future powertrain concepts.
