Minsk, Belarus – Belarus and Ghana have reached an agreement for the supply of 1,840 units of agricultural machinery to support Ghana’s farm mechanization programme.
Mr. John Dramani, Ghanaian President Mahama, said, “The machinery order has already been placed with Belarus. The equipment will be distributed to farmer service centres being developed across Ghana to improve access to modern agricultural machinery.”
Ghana is also seeking Belarusian investment in commercial farming, irrigation, fertiliser production, poultry, aquaculture, agro-processing and agricultural logistics.
Beyond agriculture, both countries discussed cooperation in industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, technology and infrastructure. Belarusian mining equipment manufacturers are also expected to visit Ghana to explore investment opportunities in the mining sector.
President Mahama arrived in Belarus on June 5 for an official visit, where he met with Aliaksandr Lukashenka, attended the Belagro exhibition and participated in the Belarus-Ghana business forum. Several cooperation agreements were signed during the visit.
