Pune - Blue Energy Motors., a zero-emission truck manufacturer, has achieved a major sustainability milestone, reducing 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions with its LNG-powered trucks. The 10,000-tonne emissions reduction, equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of around 400,000 mature trees, underscores the environmental advantages of LNG as an alternative fuel.

This milestone supports India’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. Commercial vehicles, which account for just 4% of the vehicle fleet, contribute nearly 40% of road transport CO2 emissions, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, highlighting the need for sustainable alternatives.

Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, highlighted the achievement as a step toward sustainable mobility. “This milestone demonstrates the potential of LNG technology in reducing emissions and operational costs while contributing to greener logistics. We are also exploring other alternate fuel technologies, including electric vehicles, to further strengthen our commitment to sustainability in the transportation sector.”

LNG-powered trucks offer a cleaner alternative to diesel, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 30% and cutting particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. This technology is particularly beneficial for long-haul operations, supporting environmental goals and providing cost savings for fleet owners.

Blue Energy Motors is investing in both LNG and electric vehicle (EV) solutions for commercial applications, positioning itself at the forefront of India’s sustainable transportation shift. As India’s logistics sector grows, LNG trucks provide immediate benefits, while EVs aim to eliminate tailpipe emissions.
