Date: November 8, 2024Munich, Germany- Bayerische Motoren Werke AG., has unveiled the 2025 range of M 1000 and S 1000 roadsters debut with a refreshed design, dual headlights, and Euro 5+ compliance. The S 1000 R now produces 170 hp, includes adjustable engine brake control, USB-C, and E-call, while the M 1000 R packs 210 hp with its Shiftcam engine. Catch the lineup, including the M 1000 RR and S 1000 RR with new updates, at EICMA 2024. These models are expected in the Indian market next year.
BMW M 1000 RR is powered by a refined 999cc in-line four engine, featuring an upgraded cylinder head with a new port design, reshaped combustion chamber, and titanium valves with enhanced tulip and seat geometry on both intake and exhaust. This boosts power output to 215bhp, 6bhp more than the previous model. A titanium exhaust system now includes modified cylinder head flanges, oval header inlets, and a reworked pre-silencer. Aerodynamics have also been optimized with a redesigned front fairing and new M Winglets 3.0, enhancing downforce. The Flex Frame has been updated, including a new left-side engine mount.
Control systems see significant upgrades, as the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now offers a new Slide Control function thanks to a steering angle sensor, dividing DTC into Slip Control and Slide Control. This sensor also enables the new Brake Slide Assist in the BMW Race ABS Pro. The M 1000 RR is available in two versions: the base variant in Lightwhite uni and the M 1000 RR M Competition in Blackstorm metallic. The Competition variant comes equipped with M GPS Laptrigger software, an M milled parts package, M Carbon package, a lighter swinging arm, a DLC-coated M Endurance chain, pillion package, and M Aero Wheel Covers.
The BMW S 1000 RR now boasts enhanced track performance. It includes a new M short-stroke throttle, new winglets for added downforce, a front wheel cover with integrated brake ducts, and updated side fairings for a sharper look. Standard Pro riding modes now include Race Pro modes, with a five-level adjustable ABS and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC). Offered in three colors, the S 1000 RR comes in Blackstorm metallic, Bluestone metallic with matte graphics on the Sport model, and a Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport scheme paired with the M package. Its 999cc in-line four engine delivers 206bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The M 1000 R hyper-naked sports an updated look with a dual-flow headlight inspired by RR models and the M logo positioned in the intake between the headlights. It is available in Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport and White Aluminium metallic matte color schemes, while the M Competition equipment variant adds Blackstorm metallic/M Motorsport. Across color schemes, the rear frame and swingarm are finished in Platinum Grey metallic, with black-painted winglets and covers for the clutch and generator. Equipped with a refined traction control DTC derived from the RR models, the M 1000 R is powered by the same 999cc in-line four engine as the S 1000 RR, delivering 206bhp and 113Nm.
The S 1000 R’s in-line four engine now produces 168bhp, a 5bhp increase from the prior model. With a shorter final drive ratio, it also offers smoother shifts with the standard Shift Assistant Pro. It inherits the upgraded traction control DTC seen in the M 1000 RR. Additional standard features include a dual-flow LED headlight, engine drag torque control (MSR) with customizable ‘Engine Brake’ settings, a short license plate holder, and a USB-C port beneath the seat. Available color schemes are Blackstorm metallic for the base variant, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow for the Sport model, and Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport in combination with the M package.
