Coventry,UK-BSA Motorcycle.,the legendary BSA nameplate has returned to the spotlight with the unveiling of the Bantam 350, a motorcycle that blends British heritage with Indian engineering roots. Showcased at the Bike Shed Moto Show in London, the Bantam 350 marks BSA’s entry into the competitive 350cc modern-classic segment, taking direct aim at popular models such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. With its unique retro-modern design, contemporary hardware, and nods to its iconic history, the Bantam 350 is set to appeal to enthusiasts seeking a stylish yet practical motorcycle.

Visually, the BSA Bantam 350 carries a strong resemblance to the Jawa 42 FJ, introduced in India in 2023, reflecting the shared platform between the two motorcycles. The bike’s design embraces a neo-retro philosophy, featuring round headlamps, a sculpted fuel tank, and a slim tail section for a sporty yet classic stance. Blacked-out elements across the engine, exhaust system, and alloy wheels lend it a modern appeal, while subtle touches such as the Union Jack motif on the fuel tank and the “Three Gun Salute” badge on the crankcase proudly highlight its British identity. To add individuality, BSA will offer the Bantam 350 in five striking paint schemes: Avalon Grey, Oxford Blue, Firecracker Red, Barrel Black, and Victor Yellow.

Under the skin, the Bantam 350 employs a conventional but proven setup. It is equipped with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, tuned for comfort and everyday usability. The motorcycle rides on an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, both finished in alloys and wrapped in tubeless tyres, enhancing durability and ease of maintenance. Braking duties are managed by a 320mm disc brake up front and a 240mm disc at the rear, paired with dual-channel ABS to ensure confident stopping power. This balance of classic styling and modern safety tech makes the Bantam 350 a compelling offering in the segment.

At its core, the BSA Bantam 350 draws power from a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motor produces 29 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 29.62 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, numbers that place it above the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in terms of outright performance. The engine promises a smooth and refined riding experience, while its liquid-cooling ensures sustained performance during long rides. The combination of power and accessible ergonomics positions the Bantam 350 as a lively, urban-friendly motorcycle with enough character for highway runs as well.

While the BSA Bantam 350 has been unveiled for the UK market, its strong Indian roots make it a motorcycle that could find natural demand in India. However, the company has not yet confirmed whether the model will be launched in the Indian market. If it does arrive, it will take on segment heavyweights like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Jawa 42, Honda H’ness CB350, and Yezdi Roadster.

By combining British heritage, Indian engineering platforms, and a modern-classic design, the BSA Bantam 350 represents a fresh chapter for the brand. Whether or not it makes its way to Indian roads, the motorcycle underscores BSA’s ambition to revive its legendary identity in a new era.
