These electric vehicles will join RCCB's fleet of delivery trucks in Downey, California, and represent the first zero-emission heavy-duty trucks
Date: November 18, 2023Oregon, United states- Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA)., they announced that it has delivered 20 zero-emission, battery electric Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 Trucks to Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling LLC (RCCB)., a West Coast and Midwest bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola brands. These electric vehicles will join RCCB's fleet of delivery trucks in Downey, California, and represent the first zero-emission heavy-duty trucks added to their California fleet.
The Downey site has installed twenty Detroit eFill commercial charging stations, which will be the only source of power for RCCB's eCascadias. In addition to the charging stations, RCCB is making use of the Detroit Charger Management System, a potent software program that offers a thorough overview of their electric fleet and facilitates effective energy management, which eventually lowers operating expenses. RCCB achieved the best site design and a flawless integration of the eCascadias into their fleet by working closely with Detroit eConsulting, a team of eMobility professionals devoted to every step of the electric truck conversion process.
Mr. David Carson, senior vice president, sales and marketing, DTNA, said that, Our partnership with Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling is a major step toward encouraging environmentally friendly transportation. The incorporation of Freightliner eCascadias into RCCB's fleet demonstrates how efficiency and innovation can be promoted while maintaining corporate and environmental responsibility.
If fleets want to switch to efficient, emission-free tractors, the Freightliner eCascadias are made to maximize productivity. It just takes two and a half to three hours to fully recharge, which promotes increased productivity. Depending on the exact configuration, the eCascadia can deliver a usual range of 155, 220, or 230 miles. It offers a variety of battery and drive axle options. The many configurations available are perfect for last mile logistics, local and regional distribution, drayage, and warehouse-to-warehouse operations on short and regional haul routes with depot-based charging. The Detroit ePowertrain is an internally developed, fully integrated system that puts power, efficiency, and dependability first. The eCascadia also includes the Detroit Assurance suite of features as standard equipment for increased road safety systems.
