ENGINIUS launches new CITYPOWER truck

Bremen, Germany- At the IAA Transportation the truck manufacturer ENGINIUS GmbH., will be presenting trucks for the medium-duty class to the public for the first time. The CITYPOWER 1633, which available in both battery electric (BEV) and fuel cell electric (FCEV) variants, is built on the Classic Space cab from Daimler Truck's ATEGO. With a gross vehicle weight of 16 tons and a familiar 2.30 m width, the CITYPOWER 1633 maintains excellent manoeuvrability and visibility. It comes in two wheelbase options: 4,760 mm and 5,360 mm, catering to diverse operational needs.

ENGINIUS deliberately favours both emission-free drive variants: Battery and hydrogen as the main energy source, as this allows individual user profiles to be served with the respective infrastructure requirements. Depending on the application, operating times, fleet size and local infrastructure conditions, the choice of powertrain technology (BEV or FCEV) enables green logistics concepts to be implemented economically in line with individual customer requirements. The CITYPOWER will be available at the end of 2025.

Efficient in city traffic, the CITYPOWER BEV offers a 300 km range in urban and regional settings, optimizing fleet total cost of ownership (TCO). With a 280kWh battery, 8.8 t payload, and engaging driving experience, it's a top choice for city operations.

Ideal for hub-to-hub transport, the CITYPOWER FCEV delivers a 600 km range and quick refuelling at diesel speeds. It features 32 kg of hydrogen capacity, 350 bar tanks, and a 9.4 t payload, making it perfect for long journeys.

Both CITYPOWER variants benefit from the ENGINIUS drive system, which provides 248 kW continuous power and up to 368 kW during acceleration. Its three-speed manual gearbox ensures excellent climbing and efficiency, while regenerative braking maximizes energy recovery.

The CITYPOWER maintains flexibility for body and attachment configurations, with no major adjustments needed for body manufacturers. The design accommodates both batteries and hydrogen tanks within the frame, preserving vehicle dimensions for various body types.
