Bengaluru - Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL)., has strengthened its BS V–compliant construction equipment portfolio with the launch of new excavators, cranes and backhoe loaders at Excon 2025. The expanded line-up underscores the company’s focus on application-specific, high-productivity machines aimed at improving efficiency, reducing total cost of ownership and supporting India’s rapidly growing infrastructure needs.
In earthmoving, EKL commercially launched the Kubota U22-6 Mini Excavator, a 2.2-tonne machine positioned between its 1.7-tonne and 3-tonne models. Designed for confined and urban job sites, the zero-tail swing excavator features precise digging capability, ROPS/FOPS protection, an upgraded hydraulic system and a digital operator interface, making it well suited for basement excavation and space-restricted projects.
For mining and quarrying applications, EKL presented the Hydra 15 Mining prototype. Built for rugged conditions, the variant incorporates enhanced safety features such as a lift-jack guard and reinforced front bumper, along with an air-conditioned cabin to support operator comfort during long duty cycles.
The company also displayed the BLX75K Backhoe Loader in prototype form for broader regional markets. Powered by a 74.3 hp Kubota CEV-V engine, the next-generation model offers improved fuel efficiency, multiple work modes and better serviceability, reflecting deeper integration of Japanese engineering across EKL’s backhoe loader portfolio.
A key highlight was the Hydra 72 pick-and-carry crane, showcased at the concept stage. Designed to meet rising demand for higher-reach lifting, the crane features a new 72-foot boom, advanced safety systems, a heavy-duty hydraulic winch, reinforced drivetrain components and improved cabin ergonomics for continuous-duty operations.
Mr. Nikhil Nanda, Chairman & Managing Director, said, “At Escorts Kubota, innovation and sustainability continue to drive our engineering philosophy. The range displayed at Excon 2025 represents our commitment to products that are technologically advanced, environmentally responsible and economically efficient for our customers. This line-up combines Indian ingenuity with Japanese precision to address India’s growing construction needs.”
Mr. Sanjeev Bajaj, Chief Officer, Construction Equipment Business Division, said, “By optimising machine performance and minimising unplanned downtime, customers benefit from lower operating expenses over the equipment’s lifecycle. The enhanced durability ensures the machines withstand demanding conditions, delivering consistent productivity and dependable performance.”
Alongside these introductions, EKL displayed its wider BS V–compliant range, including the recently launched BLX 75 backhoe loader and new Kubota-engine variants.
