Delhi- Hero MotoCorp Limited., has launched the Xtreme 160R 4V Cruise Control variant in India, bringing big-bike technology to the 160cc class. This top-spec version adds segment-first features like electronic cruise control and ride-by-wire throttle, targeting young riders who want premium features, sharper performance, and everyday usability without stepping into higher price brackets.
Built on the Xtreme 160R 4V platform, the Cruise Control variant gains advanced electronics inspired by larger Hero models. The ride-by-wire system enables smooth, precise throttle control and unlocks three riding modes – Rain, Road and Sport – which tailor throttle response and traction behaviour to different conditions. A sharper LED headlamp, Combat Edition grey-and-yellow paint scheme, and a new colour LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts and updated switchgear further enhance its premium feel. Dual-channel ABS adds an extra layer of safety.
Power comes from the familiar 163.2 cc, air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder 4-valve engine producing 16.9 PS at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Hero claims a 0–60 km/h time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of around 115 km/h, while real-world mileage is roughly 46 km/l. The ride-by-wire system refines throttle mapping across modes: Sport for sharper acceleration, Road for a balanced feel and Rain for smoother response on slippery surfaces. With a kerb weight of just 139.5 kg, the bike feels light and agile.
Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm KYB upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock, offering a good mix of comfort and sporty control over bad roads and corners. The motorcycle runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres (100/80-17 front and 130/70-17 rear), while braking is managed by a 276 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS for confident, progressive stopping.
Design-wise, the Xtreme 160R 4V Cruise Control leans into a muscular streetfighter look with sharp tank shrouds, a sculpted fuel tank, compact tail section and full-LED lighting. A 795 mm seat height and slim mid-section make it accessible and easy to manoeuvre in traffic, while clip-on handlebars and a split seat support a sporty yet usable riding posture. Practical touches like a USB charging port, pillion grab rails, small under-seat storage, split LED tail-lamp and knuckle guards round off the package, making this variant one of the most tech-loaded and feature-rich 160 cc motorcycles in the segment.
