Offenbach, Germany- Hyundai Motor Company., has unveiled the STARIA Electric at the Brussels Motor Show, introducing a fully electric version of its people-focused MPV designed for family, leisure, and professional mobility. Hyundai positions the STARIA Electric as a practical, zero-emission solution for Europe, combining the STARIA’s space and flexibility with a new high-voltage EV system, fast charging capability, and a refreshed, tech-forward cabin.
STARIA Electric follows Hyundai’s “Inside-Out” design approach, where the exterior is shaped around maximising interior comfort and openness. A long body, low beltline and expansive glazing enhance visibility and natural light, creating a bright, lounge-like environment with easy movement between rows. The STARIA one-curve silhouette remains, while EV-specific touches—such as a closed front design with clean geometric surfaces and a continuous horizontal lighting signature—emphasise its electric identity and contribute to improved aerodynamic efficiency. Wide sliding doors and a large rear opening support easy access for passengers and luggage.
STARIA Electric uses an 84 kWh battery and a 160 kW (218 PS) electric motor driving the front wheels, delivering smooth and quiet performance. A key highlight is its 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling rapid charging and consistent power delivery. Under optimal DC fast-charging conditions, it can charge from 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes, while an 11 kW AC onboard charger supports everyday charging. Hyundai estimates an up to 400 km WLTP range, along with a 2,000 kg (braked) towing capacity, making it suitable for trailers and leisure equipment.
Inside, STARIA Electric features a clean, horizontal layout with a strong focus on usability and space. Dual 12.3-inch displays provide the instrument cluster and infotainment, and Hyundai’s next-generation ccNC system supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. Practical features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) (inside and outside), 100W high-power USB ports, and Digital Key, supporting a wide range of everyday use cases.
At launch, Hyundai will offer two configurations: the 7-seat LUXURY variant for private and leisure use, and the 9-seat WAGON variant for larger families, group travel and shuttle operations. Production will begin at Hyundai’s Ulsan plant in Korea, with STARIA Electric scheduled to go on sale in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026, followed by additional markets later.
