Yokohama, Japan- Isuzu Motors Limited., has started reviewing a merger with its subsidiary, UD Trucks Corporation, with the aim of completing the process by March 2028. The proposed merger is intended to combine the management resources of both companies, improve operational efficiency, and support faster decision-making across the Isuzu Group.

UD Trucks became part of the Isuzu Group in 2021. Since then, both companies have been working on business restructuring and integration in several areas, including joint product development, mutual supply, production collaboration in Japan and overseas, domestic sales reorganisation, and talent sharing.

The move comes as the commercial vehicle industry faces major changes, including decarbonisation, logistics transformation, software-defined vehicles, intelligent mobility technologies, and stronger global competition. Isuzu believes that deeper integration with UD Trucks will help build a stronger and more sustainable business foundation.

By bringing together key functions and resources, Isuzu aims to create greater value for customers and respond more quickly to changing market needs. The company will continue discussions with customers, employees, business partners, and relevant authorities as it works toward the planned merger.

Guided by its purpose, “Moving the World – for You,” Isuzu said it will continue transforming into a Commercial Mobility Solutions Company, focused on solving challenges for customers and society while adapting to an increasingly uncertain business environment.
