Andhra Pradesh - Kia India Pvt. Limited., an automobile manufacturer, has launched the electric iteration of its popular MPV, the Carens Clavis EV. With this new EV, Kia aims to expand its presence in India’s growing electric vehicle market.
To address key challenges faced by EV users, Kia has also launched the K-Charge platform. Integrated into the MyKia app, K-Charge provides access to over 11,000 charging points nationwide through partnerships with 18 leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs). This extensive network covers both urban areas and major highways, making daily commutes and long-distance travel more convenient for EV owners.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to come equipped with a 51.4 kWh battery pack, offering an impressive claimed range of up to 490 km. This is the same battery pack used in the Hyundai Creta Electric. Kia may also offer a more affordable variant featuring a smaller 42 kWh battery, similar to what Hyundai offers in its EV lineup.
The electric Kia Carens Clavis keeps much of its ICE sibling’s design but adds EV touches like a closed-off grille and a charging flap at the front. Inside, it sports a redesigned center console with a storage bin instead of a gear lever, while retaining the dual-screen layout. Expected features include dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, LED lighting, and Level 2 ADAS.
As Kia readies the Carens Clavis EV for launch, it aims to offer Indian buyers a stylish, tech-rich, and practical electric MPV supported by its growing charging network.
