Stuttgart, Germany- Mercedes-Benz AG., has launched the all-new GLC with EQ Technology. The electric SUV will debut in the first half of 2026, starting with the flagship GLC 400 4MATIC, which delivers 360 kW (483 hp) and offers up to 713 km of range

The GLC 400 4MATIC features an 800-volt system enabling ultra-fast charging, replenishing up to 303 km of range in 10 minutes at compatible DC fast-charging stations. The 94 kWh lithium-ion battery uses silicon oxide anodes for higher energy density. A two-speed rear-axle transmission combines a short first gear for city driving with a second gear optimized for highways, supporting a top speed of 210 km/h.

The new GLC showcases Mercedes-Benz’s redesigned brand face with an illuminated high-tech grille featuring 942 backlit polycarbonate dots. The interior introduces the largest Mercedes-Benz screen ever: the 99.3 cm seamless MBUX HYPERSCREEN. Optional highlights include the SKY CONTROL panoramic roof with switchable glass and ambient lighting featuring 162 illuminated stars, alongside the industry-first vegan-certified interior, validated by The Vegan Society.

Built on an 84 mm longer wheelbase, the electric GLC offers 47 mm more rear legroom and 17 mm additional headroom. Rear cargo capacity reaches 570 liters, expandable to 1,740 liters with folded seats, plus a 128-liter front trunk. The SUV also supports towing up to 2.4 tonnes and a 100 kg drawbar load for carrying e-bikes.

Equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s MB.DRIVE system, the GLC utilizes 10 cameras, 5 radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Standard safety features include Distance Assist DISTRONIC, PRE-SAFE systems, and a center airbag, with optional packages providing enhanced Level 2 driver assistance. High-voltage battery safety includes multi-stage protection and advanced monitoring.

Mercedes-Benz introduces MB.CHARGE Public, the first integrated charging reservation system, automatically securing charging bays 15 minutes before arrival. The vehicle also supports bidirectional charging for Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid applications at compatible DC stations.

Production at the Bremen plant is net carbon-neutral, with the electric GLC achieving a two-thirds reduction in lifecycle carbon footprint compared to the combustion model. Over two-thirds of aluminum parts use carbon-reduced material, and battery cells benefit from a 30% lower carbon footprint through renewable energy.
