Grieskirchen, Austria - POTTINGER Landtechnik GmbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has announced significant upgrades to its FLEXCARE V row crop cultivators, equipping the machine with new functions for the 2026 season. Designed for both conventional and ecological farming, as well as contractors, the updated FLEXCARE V enhances precision, efficiency, and versatility in mechanical weed control.
The highlight of the upgrade is a pneumatic distribution system, which works seamlessly with seed hoppers such as Pottinger’s AMICO front hopper. This addition enables precise fertiliser placement, improves nutrient efficiency, and allows multiple processes to be combined, reducing the number of field passes.
Another key innovation is the optional trailing tine hoe, which boosts weed drying reliability and minimises erosion by shaking out hoed weeds and depositing them on the soil surface.
For tougher conditions, Pottinger has also introduced DURASTAR PLUS duck foot shares with a carbide coating. These provide stronger ground penetration, improved durability, and longer replacement intervals—making them particularly effective in very hard soils.
The machine retains its highly modular design, allowing farmers to adjust row spacing and tools without additional accessories. This flexibility means the same machine can be used for different crops—from grain sown 25 cm apart to pumpkins at 160 cm—with only minimal adjustments. Pottinger’s free online tool, ROW CROP ASSIST, further simplifies configuration.
With a wide range of possible setups, the FLEXCARE V maximises machine utilisation and cost efficiency, making it a valuable solution for farms adopting precision planting, varied crop rotations, or changing row spacings.
