Södertälje, Sweden- Scania CV AB., has introduced its first-ever battery-electric CrewCab, developed for fire, airport and civil rescue operations. The new CP31L 4x2 battery-electric vehicle is designed to support demanding emergency applications while enabling zero tailpipe-emission transport.

The vehicle comes with 356 kWh of installed battery capacity and a 90 percent state-of-charge operating window, offering the performance and reliability required for mission-critical rescue duties. Scania has also designed the CrewCab with free frame sides, giving bodybuilders greater flexibility to adapt the vehicle for different customer applications and operational requirements.

Mr. Louise Johansson, Solutions Manager at Scania Commercial with responsibility for the Fire & Rescue, Airport and Recovery segment, said, “The addition of this new cab for battery-electric power underlines our commitment to supporting the electrification of our customers’ fleets – combining sustainability, operational reliability and long-term profitability.”

The new battery-electric CrewCab has been developed to meet rising demand for low- and zero-emission rescue vehicles without compromising safety, uptime or crew comfort. Built for challenging working environments, the vehicle provides the space, accessibility and durability that emergency response teams require during critical operations.
