Bengaluru- Simple Energy Private Limited., has introduced the Gen 2 version of its Simple One electric scooter, aimed at refining the existing platform rather than starting from scratch. The update brings a cleaner, more streamlined design along with a series of chassis, battery, performance, and software improvements. Alongside the refreshed lineup, Simple has also showcased a new Ultra variant and announced a lifetime warranty across all Gen 2 scooters.
For Gen 2, Simple has focused on improving ride quality and stability. The scooter now features optimised structural joints for better rigidity, reinforced battery crash zones, and a new tyre compound intended to improve high-speed confidence. Suspension tuning has been revised, while seat height has been lowered by 16mm. The seat itself gets a stiffer, sportier foam setup for a firmer feel.
The higher-spec Simple One Gen 2 debuts a newly developed 5kWh battery pack that is lighter and more energy-dense than before. Battery weight has been reduced from 34kg to 30kg, helping improve efficiency. In this configuration, the scooter produces 8.8kW peak power and 72Nm peak torque, with a claimed 265km IDC range. A 4.5kWh option is also offered, claiming 236km IDC range. Both versions achieve 0–40kph in 2.55 seconds, an improvement over the Gen 1.5 model, while top speed rises to 115kph from the earlier 105kph.
The entry-level Simple OneS continues with a 3.7kWh battery offering a claimed 190km IDC range. It also uses a smaller motor rated at 6.4kW peak power and 52Nm peak torque.
Simple has also shown the upcoming Simple One Ultra, which is expected to use a larger 6.5kWh battery and deliver a claimed 400km IDC range. Acceleration from 0–40kph is rated at 2.77 seconds. Pricing for the Ultra has not been disclosed yet.
Gen 2 scooters introduce new updates through SimpleOS, including two new ride modes. EcoX adjusts output based on throttle input, speed behaviour, and riding conditions to maximise range, while SonicX unlocks the full 115kph top speed. Riders also get four traction modes, four levels of regenerative braking, and two cruise control settings one tuned for highways and another for city riding.
Additional safety and convenience features include vehicle fall cutoff, hill-hold assist, and emergency braking lights that illuminate under hard braking.
The 5kWh variants come with a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display, while the Simple OneS uses a 7-inch TFT unit without touch functionality. The new interface supports both light and dark themes. Storage remains practical with 35 litres of under-seat space, along with a front glove box and USB charging port.
