Tata Motors Limited sales in the domestic & international market for Q2 FY 2024-25 stood at 2,15,034 vehicles, compared to 2,43,024 units during Q2 FY 2023-24.

Mumbai- Tata Motor Limited., released its sales report for September 2024, total domestic sales amounted to 69,694 units, representing a 15% decline compared to 82,023 units in September 2023. For Q2 FY25, domestic sales reached 209,861 units, marking an 11% decrease from 237,128 units in Q2 FY24. This trend indicates a continued challenge in maintaining sales momentum year over year.
Commercial vehicle (CV) domestic sales reached 30,032 units, reflecting a 23% decline from 39,064 units in September 2023. Within this segment, heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) truck sales dropped by 28%, totaling 9,295 units, while intermediate and light commercial vehicle (ILMCV) truck sales decreased by 16% to 5,387 units. The sales of small commercial vehicles (SCVs), including cargo and pickups, also fell by 26%, totaling 10,848 units. In contrast, passenger carriers experienced a smaller decline of 7%, with 3,101 units sold. For Q2 FY25, total CV sales stood at 84,281 units, down 19% from 104,085 units in Q2 FY24.
Domestic sales of MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,190 units vs 18,577 units in Sept 2023; In Q2 FY25 it was 37,372 units, compared to 45,174 units in Q2 FY24.
Domestic & International sales for MH&ICV in Sept 2024, was 14,839 units vs 19,199 units in Sept 2023; while in Q2 FY25 it stood at 39,433 units, vs 46,865 units in Q2 FY24.
passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including electric vehicles (EVs), reached 41,063 units, marking an 8% decline from 44,809 units in September 2023. The overall PV sales, which also include imports, amounted to 41,313 units, a 9% decrease compared to 45,317 units last year. Additionally, EV sales, both domestic and imported, fell by 23% to 4,680 units. For Q2 FY25, total PV sales stood at 130,753 units, down 6% from 138,939 units in Q2 FY24.

Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. said, Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicles domestic sales dropped ~19% YoY in Q2 FY25, with a 25% decline in the HCV segment due to rains and lower fleet utilization. Passenger commercial vehicles grew 3%, while SCVPU volumes fell by 25%. Improvement is expected with easing rains, infrastructure spending, and festive demand ahead. demand to pick up gradually in Q3, led by ILMCV and Buses, followed by M&HCV and SCVPU.”
Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, The PV industry saw over a 5% drop in Q2 FY25 retail registrations compared to Q2 FY24 due to weak demand and seasonal factors. Tata Motors wholesales declined 6%, aligning with lower-than-expected retails to manage inventory. However, the Curvv launch received a strong response, and Nexon.ev's higher range variant is driving interest.
