Mumbai- Tata Motors Limited., a commercial vehicle manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Energy Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (GEMS), the electric mobility division launched by Universal Bus Services (UBS), for the supply of 100 advanced Magna EV intercity coaches. The MoU was formalized at the Passenger Vehicle Expo 2.0 in Chennai, where Tata Motors is presenting its latest range of commercial passenger mobility solutions, including the all-electric Magna EV and the LPO 1822. These vehicles are engineered to deliver superior performance, enhanced passenger comfort, and a low total cost of ownership.
Universal Bus Services, a leading premium intercity travel provider in South India, is widely recognized for its innovation, reliability, and customer-focused operations. Its new EV arm, GEMS, is at the forefront of UBS’s green mobility transformation, spearheading the deployment of cutting-edge electric buses and supporting infrastructure.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, along with senior government officials and members of the All Omni Bus Owners Association (AOBOA).

The Tata Magna EV is a fully electric intercity coach offering a range of up to 300 km on a single charge. Designed for long-haul comfort, it features a 44-seater layout with ergonomically designed seats. Passenger safety and convenience are further enhanced with advanced systems such as Electronic Braking System (EBS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
