Anderson, California – Tigercat Industries Inc., an off-road industrial equipment manufacturer, has introduced the new LX825 compact leveling track carrier alongside the TCi 4154-15 mulching head, expanding its portfolio of steep-slope and forest management solutions. The LX825 prototype is set to debut at the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference, addressing rising demand for fire mitigation and forestland management across the Western United States.
Built on the same upper platform as the LX830E, the LX825 is engineered as a quicker, lighter and more agile near-zero-tailswing carrier. It features an all-new leveling undercarriage designed to enhance stability, responsiveness and maneuverability in tight stands and steep terrain. The integrated auto-leveling system allows operators to adjust the undercarriage position at the push of a button, ensuring optimal machine balance on uneven ground.
Powering the LX825 is a 303-horsepower Tigercat FPT C87 Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The carrier delivers a cut radius of 27 feet 8 inches and a compact swing radius of 7 feet, supporting efficient operation in confined forest environments.
The machine can be configured with either a standard feller buncher hydraulic system or an optional convertible hydraulic system. The convertible option enables quick attachment changes between a disc saw, intermittent saw, bar saw, shear or mulching head, offering contractors greater operational flexibility. This allows users to masticate brush and understory vegetation while maintaining the capability to harvest merchantable timber.
Tigercat’s ER boom system further enhances productivity by transferring energy between the main and stick boom functions, optimizing hydraulic efficiency. Operators can smoothly extend and retract the boom horizontally using a single joystick, reducing fatigue and improving saw recovery speed for both experienced and new operators.
Inside the cab, the LX825 features ergonomic armrest-mounted controls, a full-suspension air-ride seat and a large color touchscreen display. The Skyview camera system improves visibility and safety, while Bluetooth audio for hands-free communication comes standard, supporting operator comfort and productivity during extended shifts.
