Ukraine / Seoul, South Korea – Ukraine and South Korea have signed a landmark memorandum of cooperation to establish a heavy machinery training center in Ukraine, a move aimed at boosting the country’s reconstruction efforts. The agreement was signed by the Recovery Agency of Ukraine and the Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association of the Republic of Korea in Seoul.

The planned center will train operators of excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment using modern simulators and machinery, meeting South Korean standards. Programs will be accessible to veterans, women, and youth, helping develop a skilled workforce to support Ukraine’s rebuilding of towns and villages.

Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba announced the initiative via Telegram, highlighting its potential to create employment opportunities while advancing reconstruction.

The agreement also opens doors for Korean companies to participate in Ukraine’s recovery, including machinery supply, pilot projects, advisory support, and joint professional programs. Ukrainian and Korean experts will collaborate to harmonize standards, define procurement and maintenance processes, and organize training and events, fostering long-term cooperation in the rebuilding sector.
