Torslanda, Gothenburg- Volvo Car Corporation., has introduced the EX60, a new all-electric mid-size SUV designed to raise the bar in the world’s biggest EV segment with standout range, fast-charging capability, strong performance and a more accessible pricing approach.

Built as a five-seat, family-focused SUV, the EX60 aims to eliminate range anxiety with an all-wheel-drive version offering up to 810 km on a single charge Volvo’s longest-range electric vehicle to date and a new benchmark for the segment. Charging is equally ambitious: using a 400-kW fast charger, the EX60 can add up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes, turning quick stops into meaningful top-ups.

Mr. Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars, calls the EX60 “a new beginning” for both Volvo and its customers, highlighting that the model is built on an all-new architecture and introduces major manufacturing and technology steps such as mega casting, cell-to-body battery integration, and core computing through Volvo’s new HuginCore system.

To simplify ownership from day one, Volvo says the ordering process has been redesigned to be more transparent clearly showing pricing, included features and a precise delivery estimate. Customers can choose from pre-configured vehicles for faster delivery or opt for a fully customised build with a longer wait.

The EX60 lineup includes three powertrain options: the P12 AWD Electric (up to 810 km), the P10 AWD Electric (up to 660 km), and the P6 rear-wheel-drive Electric (up to 620 km). In total, Volvo offers seven variants to cover different needs and lifestyles. The EX60 also comes with a 10-year battery warranty, and in Sweden, early private buyers will receive three years of free home charging, with the offer planned to expand to additional markets.

Under the skin, the EX60 rides on Volvo’s SPA3 electric vehicle architecture. Efficiency gains come from next-generation in-house electric motors, a new battery cell design, cell-to-body construction and mega casting reducing weight while improving driving range and energy use. Volvo also states the EX60 achieves the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo, matching the smaller EX30.

Design follows Scandinavian principles with an emphasis on calm practicality and efficient aerodynamics. A low front, sloping roofline and tapered sides help it reach a drag coefficient of 0.26, supporting its long-range target. Inside, a long wheelbase and flat floor increase rear legroom, expand cargo capacity and enable smarter storage throughout the cabin. For audio, Volvo offers a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system with headrest speakers in all four main seats, and the EX60 will be the first Volvo to feature Apple Music pre-installed with Dolby Atmos for immersive Spatial Audio.

Technology is a major focus: the EX60 is Volvo’s first model launching with Google’s Gemini AI assistant, enabling more natural, personalised voice conversations without memorising specific commands. Volvo also promises its most responsive infotainment experience yet, with faster screen response, instant map loading and smoother overall interaction, backed by collaboration with partners such as Google, NVIDIA and Qualcomm.

Safety remains central to the EX60 proposition. Powered by HuginCore, the car continuously interprets its surroundings through a broad sensor suite. Volvo highlights its multi-adaptive safety belt innovation for more tailored front-row protection, reinforced safety structures using boron steel, and advanced restraint systems designed to work together in real-world conditions. The EX60 is also built to improve over time through regular over-the-air updates.

Volvo says the EX60 is now available to order across European markets, with the US launch planned for late spring. Production is scheduled to begin this spring at Volvo’s factory in Sweden, with customer deliveries of the P6 and P10 versions starting this summer, followed shortly by the P12.
