Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Prichsenstadt – W&P GmbH, a freight forwarding company based in Prichsenstadt, Bavaria, is accelerating its shift to sustainable logistics with a significant investment in electric mobility. The company has expanded its fleet with 20 new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks, reinforcing its commitment to zero-emission freight transport.
This move follows W&P’s earlier adoption of three eActros 300 trucks, which cover around 480 km daily. The eActros 600, launched in series production in late 2024, offers an impressive range of up to 500 km without intermediate charging—even at a gross combination weight of 40 tons. Thanks to intermediate charging during mandatory breaks, it can travel over 1,000 km per day under operational conditions.
Christian Wilz, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Trucks & FUSO Germany: "We are very pleased that Spedition W&P is continuing the partnership with our company and has decided on a total of 20 new eActros 600. Together with the opening of its own state-of-the-art charging park, the transport company marks an important milestone for locally C02-free road freight transport in the region, for which we congratulate you."
Mr. Alexander Wehr, Managing Director of W&P, Said, "The eActros 600 impressed us from the very first moment - not only with its impressive range and efficiency, but also with the holistic concept that Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers around electromobility. As a freight forwarder with a focus on sustainable logistics in the recycling industry and the premium textile sector, it was clear to us: The future is electric."
eActros 600 Key Technical Highlights:
Beyond fleet upgrades, W&P has also inaugurated a modern EV charging park at its Prichsenstadt site, located near the A3 motorway and B286 highway. The facility includes:
Mercedes-Benz Trucks supported W&P not only in vehicle delivery but also through its TruckCharge program, offering integrated consulting, infrastructure setup, and subsidy assistance. TruckCharge bundles all of Daimler Truck’s e-infrastructure solutions, providing brand-independent services for truck fleet operators.
Despite growing EV truck adoption, Europe still has fewer than 1,000 heavy-duty charging points. Daimler Truck aims to address this through a semi-public charging network, targeting over 3,000 fast-charging points by 2030. This complements public networks such as Milence, a joint venture with Volvo Group and TRATON, which plans to install 1,700 high-performance chargers by 2027.
