Warwick, United Kingdom- Renault Trucks UK., an automotive manufacture, has marked the arrival of its first E-Tech T tractor units on July 23rd 2024 at Kinetic Studios in Corby, Northamptonshire, with a ZEHID Partner Day. The event brought together key stakeholders from three consortia funded by the UK's £200 million (approximately INR 20,900 crore) Zero Emission Heavy Goods Vehicles and Infrastructure Demonstration (ZEHID) programme, along with representatives from the Department for Transport and Innovate UK.
As part of the ZEHID programme, funded by the Department for Transport and Innovate UK Renault Trucks is supplying 40-44 tonne electric E-Tech T tractor units to the eFREIGHT 2030 consortium led by Voltempo Group Ltd., and the Project Electric Freightway consortium led by Gridserve Sustainable Energy Ltd., Battery electric HGVs will also be part of the ZEN Freight consortium, now led by Dynamon. During the event, fleet operators engaged with Renault Trucks' electromobility experts and received updates from project leads Mr. Michael Boxwell (Voltempo Group), Mr. Sam Clarke (Gridserve), and Mr. James Slatter (Dynamon).
