Moline, Illinois – Deere and Company., an agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer, has plans to open two new U.S.-based facilities within the next year, reinforcing its commitment to American manufacturing and job creation. The expansion includes a new distribution center near Hebron, Indiana, and a new excavator manufacturing facility in Kernersville, North Carolina.
The Kernersville facility marks a major shift as excavator production moves from Japan to the United States. Once operational, the campus will manufacture the only excavators designed, developed, and built entirely in the U.S.
Mr. John May, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of John Deere, said, “Our investment in these new facilities underscores John Deere’s dedication to strengthening American manufacturing and supporting local economies. These projects reflect our continued focus on innovation and job creation in the United States.”
The new distribution center in Indiana will enhance John Deere’s supply chain and parts availability across the country and is expected to create around 150 jobs.
In North Carolina, John Deere will invest $70 million in a new excavator factory that will produce next-generation machines for the construction market. The facility will employ more than 150 people and support growing equipment demand.
Mr. Ryan Campbell, President, Worldwide Construction and Forestry and Power Systems, said, “We are proud to expand our manufacturing footprint in the United States. These investments strengthen our ability to deliver industry-leading products while creating American jobs.”
The expansion is part of John Deere’s long-term commitment to invest $20 billion in U.S. manufacturing over the next decade.
