Rajkot, now has a total of 109 air-conditioned electric buses.
Date: August 6, 2024Rajkot- PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., delivered 22 brand-new electric buses to the Rajkot Municipal Corporation on Monday. The launch ceremony was graced by Mr. Pradeep Dav, former Mayor of Rajkot; Mr. Jamin Thakar, Chairman of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC); Mr. Mukesh Doshi, President of the BJP; and Mr. Swapnil Khare, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of RMC, among other dignitaries.
With this addition, Rajkot, smart city, will now boast a total of 109 air-conditioned electric buses. The new 33-seater electric buses feature semi-low floors, facilitating easy entry and exit for passengers with special needs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for tourists and the general public. This initiative also plays a crucial role in reducing the city’s carbon footprint.

The Gondal Charging Station features five 240 kW GBT electric bus chargers, ensuring 24/7 operation and maintenance. As part of Gujarat's zero-carbon public mobility initiative, the newly launched electric buses are zero-emission and are expected to reduce over 650 tons of CO2 annually. These buses come with fast-charging lithium-ion batteries and advanced features including a Real-Time Passenger Information System, panic buttons, GPS tracking, CCTV, and a fire detection system. The ergonomic dashboard enhances driver focus and ease. PMI Electro Mobility Solutions supports Gujarat’s green mobility goals and was honored by distinguished guests and officials at the inauguration.
