Mumbai-Tata Motors Limited, an automotive manufacture company is set to introduce the Nexon CNG SUV this year, making it India’s first turbo-petrol CNG SUV. This new addition will broaden the Nexon lineup, which currently features petrol, diesel, and electric variants.
The Nexon CNG will come with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, anticipated to deliver 118 BHP and 170 Nm of maximum torque. The CNG version will incorporate Tata’s twin CNG cylinder technology, feature previously found in other Tata vehicles, but for the first time, it will be combined with a turbocharged petrol engine in an SUV.
This model features a dual-fuel system that allows it to operate on both petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG), providing drivers with lower running costs and reduced emissions compared to traditional petrol or diesel vehicles
The Nexon CNG maintains the stylish design and modern features of its petrol and diesel counterparts, including a comfortable interior and advanced infotainment and safety technologies.
Tata Motors' introduction of the Nexon CNG highlights a key industry trend towards providing multiple powertrain options within a single model range. This strategy meets varied consumer preferences and reflects a timely response to the increasing demand for both cost-effective and eco-friendly alternatives. By offering a CNG option, Tata Motors aligns with the rising interest in cleaner fuel solutions in the Indian market.
