ASKO VEST AS now operates new electric city and drawbar trailers refrigerated with Thermo King’s electric V-1000 and Frigoblock HKi systems independently powered by E-COOLPAC battery packs.
Date: July 26, 2024Arnatveit, Norway- ASKO VEST AS., a transport and logistics company, a subsidiary of Norges Gruppen ASA., has partnered with has partnered with Thermo King GmbH., a brand of Trane Technologies, to enhance its eco-friendly distribution network. ASKO VEST AS now uses new electric city and drawbar trailers, refrigerated with Thermo King’s electric V-1000 and Frigoblock HKi systems, powered by E-COOLPAC battery packs.
ASKO VEST AS is committed to a fully electric vehicle fleet by 2026. Starting in 2021, they have transitioned from diesel to electric vehicles, now pioneering independent electric refrigeration systems. These include electric drawbar trailers with Thermo King’s V-1000 units and battery-electric city trailers with Frigoblock’s HKi units, operating in Bergen, Tromsø, and Oslo. The refrigeration units, powered by Thermo King’s 70kWh and 105kWh E-COOLPAC battery packs, ensure reliable and efficient temperature control. These battery packs are designed and manufactured by AKSA, a Swiss energy systems developer partnering with Thermo King.

Providing electric solutions for refrigerated transportation is part of Thermo King’s and Trane Technologies’ overall approach to reducing carbon emissions. It aligns with the company’s bold 2030 Sustainability Commitments, including the Gigaton Challenge to reduce customer greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion metric tons.
