Mississauga, UK- Accelera by Cummins Inc., and Isuzu Motors Limited will introduce a new battery electric powertrain for the F-series medium-duty truck at this year’s ACT Expo in Anaheim, California. Scheduled for production in 2027, the fully integrated powertrain will feature Accelera's next-generation battery, eAxle, accessories and controls, and offer customers an innovative and versatile solution to fleet decarbonization.

Accelera, a global leader in zero-emissions powertrain solutions, has partnered with Isuzu to develop an integrated battery electric powertrain for the F-series medium-duty truck in North America. The solution features next-gen technologies, including advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) platform batteries for enhanced performance and safety, the 14Xe eAxle with ELFA motor and inverter boasting over 1 billion road miles, and the compact Power Controls and Accessory Systems (PCAS) 3.0, which is 70% smaller than its predecessor, offering greater serviceability, durability, and flexibility.

Accelera and Isuzu will launch a fully integrated battery electric powertrain for the F-series medium-duty truck, available in Class 6 and 7 starting in 2027. Designed for modern transportation needs, it offers improved performance, reliability, and efficiency, helping reduce the total cost of ownership and achieve diesel parity. The F-series will feature a newly designed low-cab forward chassis, enhancing maneuverability and driver comfort for various fleet applications, from city deliveries to regional hauls. The adaptable powertrain is also suitable for school buses, transit buses, and vocational vehicles, supporting broader industry decarbonization. Accelera will showcase its latest zero-emissions powertrain components at the ACT Expo in Anaheim, CA, from April 28 to May 1.
