Bozeman, United states- Acela Inc., a truck manufacturer, has introduced the all-new Acela Dispatcher 4x4 work truck at NTEA Work Truck Week 2026, positioning it as a compact yet highly capable solution for demanding work environments.
Designed to bridge the gap between traditional pickups and specialized work vehicles, the Dispatcher offers a best-in-class payload capacity of 2,600 pounds, exceeding that of most half-ton pickup trucks while delivering a lower price point and a smaller, more maneuverable footprint.
The Dispatcher is built on a heavily modified Jeep Gladiator chassis, which Acela reconfigures into a two-door extended cab paired with a custom 7-foot by 5-foot ute-style flatbed. The flatbed is larger than those typically found on half-ton pickups and features folding and removable sides and tailgate for added flexibility. Acela also offers the Dispatcher in a cab-chassis configuration with a bed-delete option, allowing fleets and upfitters to tailor the truck for specialized applications.
Acela says its patent-pending design combines compact dimensions, easy drivability, and strong off-road capability, making the Dispatcher well suited for use in municipal operations, mining, utilities, construction sites, campuses, and trade services where access can be limited and maneuverability is critical. Its narrow body and tight turning radius also make it effective in congested urban work zones.
According to David Ronsen, President of Acela, fleet operators are increasingly being challenged to improve efficiency in environments where uptime, payload, and access are essential. He noted that the Dispatcher is designed to deliver greater payload capacity and better maneuverability than half-ton pickup trucks, while also coming in at a price point below some worksite UTVs.
Under the hood, the Dispatcher features a proven V6 engine, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive, providing reliable on-road and off-road performance. The truck also includes modern safety systems, an ergonomic cab layout, and available advanced driver-assistance technologies to enhance both operator comfort and fleet safety. A 240-amp alternator further supports the operation of vocational equipment and accessories.
The Acela Dispatcher is being showcased at the Tafco Equipment booth (#2829) during NTEA Work Truck Week and is scheduled to be available through Acela and its select dealer network starting in April 2026.
