Indianapolis, United States- Allison Transmission Inc., a propulsion solution for wheeled and tracked defense vehicles, has received a new order for its 3040 MX™ cross-drive transmissions to support Poland’s Borsuk Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) program. This milestone builds on the 2023 Memorandum of Understanding between Allison and Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), which outlined collaboration on tracked vehicle platforms and the expansion of Allison’s Authorized Service Network in Poland.

Derived from Allison’s proven X300 series a key component in European platforms like the CV90 and Warrior IFV the 3040 MX™ introduces significant upgrades in performance and technology. It offers enhanced maneuverability through high-speed reverse and integrated steering, improved acceleration and fuel efficiency, and modern operational features such as advanced electronic controls and built-in diagnostics for improved reliability and ease of maintenance.

The Borsuk IFV Polish for "Badger" is an amphibious, tracked combat vehicle operated by a three-member crew. It is designed to replace the aging BWP-1 fleet in the Polish Armed Forces. The vehicle is being developed by Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), a subsidiary of PGZ, which is leading a consortium tasked with producing approximately 1,400 Borsuk units over the next 10 to 15 years. Following extensive prototype testing since 2017, the Polish Ministry of Defense and HSW formalized an agreement in 2023 to advance the program into production.

This new order reinforces Allison’s position as a trusted propulsion partner for next-generation defense platforms and highlights its ongoing commitment to supporting Poland’s military modernization efforts.

Mr. Dana Pittard, Vice President, Defense Programs, Allison Transmission, said "The 3040 MX brings Allison's proven durability, reliability, performance and innovation to the medium tracked vehicle segment, and to Poland's indigenously designed and produced Borsuk IFV. Allison values its partnership with Poland, and we're extremely honored to play a key role in supporting their defense initiatives."
