Hyderabad-Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited, An Advanced battery Cell Technology coompany has entered into a technical licensing agreement with GIB EnergyX Slovakia, a subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech. The agreement focuses on the manufacturing of LFP cells, leveraging GIB EnergyX Slovakia's expertise in this field.

Licensing includes access to cellular technology intellectual property, support in establishing Gigafactory facilities with state-of-the-art process technologies, integration into Gotion’s global supply chain for critical battery materials, and customer technical support for deploying solutions.

The technology transfer and service support will enhance with Amara Raja's efforts to maximize the operational capacity of its Gigafactory manufacturing and its cutting-edge research and innovation hub, 'e+ Energy Labs'. This aims to position the company at the forefront of advancing India's capabilities in this sector.

Last year, Amara Raja announced a Rs 9,500 crore investment to establish the Amara Raja Giga Corridor in Telangana. This initiative is designed to maintain the competitiveness and modernity of their products by continuously enhancing cell performance and process efficiencies throughout the partnership period.

Amara Raja and Gotion are both investors and the board member of InoBat, an emerging lithium battery technology company in Slovakia. InoBat is advancing applications such as electric aviation and is committed to creating a sustainable 'Cradle to Cradle' battery value chain ecosystem.

GIB, a collaboration between Gotion High-tech and InoBat, has recently secured an investment agreement with the Government of Slovakia to establish the nation's inaugural Gigafactory for LFP batteries.

Mr.Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director, ARE&M, said, "We have invested a lot of time and effort over the past few years to understand the global new energy landscape and made a calculated decision to be a part of the evolving lithium battery ecosystem through our investment in InoBat. Further collaborating with GIB through their ‘Global C2C Alliance’ brings us great confidence in reinforcing our technology and supply security."

"We are sure that this partnership will help us accelerate our efforts in establishing the Amara Raja Giga Corridor while Gotion's acumen lends significant customer credibility to our venture."

Mr.Steven Cai, Chairman, GIB EnergyX and Director, Gotion HighTech Co, said, "We are pleased with the partnership with Amara Raja to offer our LFP technology which should significantly benefit Indian customers in their energy transition journey."
