Hasbergen, Germany - AMAZONEN-Werke H. Dreyer GmbH., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced the TopCut 12000-2T, an advanced cutting roller combination with a 12-meter working width, developed to address the growing need for ultra-shallow soil tillage. Engineered for exceptional flexibility and performance, the TopCut 12000-2T can be configured with up to three successive tool segments and a customizable rear segment, enabling farmers to adapt the machine precisely to their field conditions and residue management requirements.
A key feature of the TopCut 12000-2T is the double-knife roller, ideal for shredding tough plant residues like rapeseed stalks, sunflower stems, and cover crops. Operating at high speed, it bruises and breaks down material effectively, promoting rapid decomposition and creating a fine tilth, even at shallow depths of 0–2 cm. This improves seedbed conditions and encourages weed and volunteer cereal germination, making it suitable for both stale seedbed preparation and general soil conditioning.
For an even more intensive shredding effect, the TopCut can be equipped with a combination of knife roller and Minimum TillDisc wavey discs. This arrangement ensures cross-cutting action, knife rollers slice crosswise while the discs work lengthwise, maximizing residue breakdown. This setup proves particularly effective in challenging conditions, such as lodged cereal crops or maize stubble.
Another main tool option is the double Minimum TillDisc, which cuts residues precisely with minimal soil disturbance, working up to 3 cm deep. Ideal for early spring, it improves aeration and speeds up soil warming, perfect for direct seeding of crops like cereals or sugar beet. A leading knife roller can be added for enhanced shredding.
The TopCut 12000-2T offers versatile rear options for post-tillage work. The heavy-duty three-row straw harrow enhances straw distribution, shakes out seeds, and creates fine soil, with hydraulic adjustment available from the cab. An HD version with carbide-tipped tines extends durability. For reconsolidation, packer rollers help retain soil moisture. The 600 mm DW disc roller ensures effective reconsolidation and residue cutting, while the wedge ring roller with KWM 600 tyre profile provides excellent crumbling, ideal for seedbed prep or stale seedbed creation, promoting early weed germination for mechanical control.
